Question

Why are there 2 size columns within Document Properties for Native TIFF documents?

asked on December 2, 2016 Show version history

Hi, I'm curious as to what these two "Size" columns mean? does it mean that for every Tiff page, there is a text file for that page? And the total file size is allTiff+allText files? Thanks!

Each image page in a TIFF document is its own *.TIF file stored in the volume. The first "size" column will tell you the size of those files in bytes.

If the pages in that document are OCR'ed, then it will create a resulting *.TXT page that corresponds to the *.TIF. The second "size" column tells you the size of those text files in bytes.

The total document size can be considered as the sum of the sizes of the *.TIF and *.TXT files.
