Question

What are the values and meanings with etype column values in LF database?

asked on November 28, 2016

Hi, I see different etype values in the database. The Laserfiche database does not have a table that defines what these values stands for.  I believe if the etype value is -1 then the entry in the toc table is for a shortcut document. Can someone please verify that if it is true? Is there is a chart for this information? I can't seem to find any information regarding the etype values.

Hi Peter,

  • -2: document (does not distinguish LF page or electronic; other columns in toc give that information)
  • -1: shortcut
  • 0: folder
  • 1: record series

Hope this helps!

Usual disclaimer: this is how LF server flags the entries for its own handling; therefore it is not recommended that one edit these values in the database and if any edits are to be made for some reason, it is highly recommended to make a backup of the database first.
