Question

Move Entry encountering "Specified cast is not valid" error.

asked on November 23, 2016

Our move entry production workflow is registering this error message: "Specified cast is not valid"

If you open workflow designer and go to the Move Entry/Move Invoice activity, clicking on the “…” button beside the path (which is supposed to bring up a dialog box to select the laserfiche folder) will always bring up this (same) error: "Specified cast is not valid"

Thanks in advance for your help with this issue.

A support case was opened for this matter. The issue was resolved after giving the Workflow user the "Browse" entry access right on the root folder.

Hi Myrna.

What happen if you bring to the workflow exercise an other "Move entry" node, it has the same behaviour?

and can you attach the path of the move entry complete? , just to see it maybe there are something to work on.

Regards!

Sounds like something might be wrong with the connection profile. Could you right-click on the help button and choose "Copy diagnostics data" from the context menu and paste the information here?

I'm Myrna's colleague, and the one who encountered the error - I suspected the connection profile, and I tried it out on both:

  1. Brand new workflow, no connection profiles configured
  2. Existing workflows that used to work, and the connection profile that was validated:

They both give the same error.

Looks like a bug, please open a support case so we can investigate further.
