Script to export docs and datas

posted on November 22, 2016

Hello,

is there a way or a script to export a part or all the docs with their datas from a repository ?

The only way that I figured out to do that is export the fields' data to csv file and then export the docs from the client but I am looking for a more seamlessly method.

Any ideas ?

Hi Moana -

In addition to the options outlined above, there are lots of export capabilities built into the SDK.

Some threads with good code examples are:

http://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/61862/Issue-with-creating-searchable-PDFs-using-the-Laserfiche-SDK

This is useful to know, especially when you need to create a specific form of xml file.

Moana,

There are custom workflow activities available on the Qfiche website at http://qfiche.com/products that might help you with your request.  Available workflow activities include Document Export, Folder Export, and XML (metadata) Export as well as many others.  The custom workflow activities available on the website are fully functional 30-day demos.

As a Laserfiche PDP (Professional Developer Partner) we can also help you with custom integrations and additional workflow functionality if necessary.  You are welcome to contact me directly at cprimmer@qfiche.com for follow up.

Hi Moana,

If you export say a folder as a briefcase (*.lfb file), the documents, folder structure, and metadata are exported from the repository and can be re-imported. You have the option to also add to the destination repository any metadata fields and templates which exist in the briefcase. You can read more in the Help Files topic.

Hope this helps!
