Forms 404 error when accessed externally

asked on November 21, 2016

Hello,

When accessed from outside our network, we get a 404 error when attempting to login to Forms. More specifically, it is after the redirect to LFDSSTS that we get the error. Usually after a few refreshes of the page, the LFDSSTS login actually loads, but when credentials are entered, the attempted redirect back to Forms produces another 404 error, which we cannot seem to get past.

We have no such issues with Web Access, which is installed on the same machine as Forms, and no issues at all accessing any of it from within our internal LAN.

Can anyone offer an explanation, or an idea of where to look for one?

Thank you for your help!

Jesse

What URL you use to access the Forms site? Is the URL you get 404 with the same as the URL you typed in browser before redirect to LFDSSTS?

The URL we enter for Forms is https://lf2.godataflow.com/Forms, which immediately redirects to LFDSSTS. Interestingly, if I simply enter "lf2.godataflow.com/Forms" (without https://), I get the 404 error, but if I type in the full URL "https://lf2.godataflow.com/Forms" I am redirected to the LFDSSTS login page. Still, after submitting my credentials to LFDSSTS, I seem to always get another 404 error, again with the LFDSSTS URL.

You appear to be correct in that the problem lies in the Forms server, i.e. lf2.godataflow.com. We enabled error tracing on both servers, and no error logs were generated on lf1.godataflow.com, only lf2.godataflow.com.

Can you point to anything specific we can look for in the error logs to more quickly identify a potential source of the problem? The log files are quite verbose (8000+ lines), so any help narrowing our search would be much appreciated.

You can search for those request with "404" as response.

I've looked through the various log files and am still having trouble finding an answer. I see where 404 is listed as a response in the logs, but have been unable successfully identify the problem.

Can you offer any additional clues as to what to look for in the logs?

thank you

Can you attach your log file so I can check what may be wrong from the log?
