Nav icon for laserfishe dissappeared

Laserfishe connector for Nav was installed yesterday. On logging in this morning the icon has dissappeared.

Hi Elaine,

Is Nav an application with which you are trying to integrate Laserfiche using Connector? If so, then the Connector profile icon disappeared suggests that Connector is no longer able to identify the application. This could be due to changes in the program itself (e.g. recent updates) or something as simple as the title of the window being different for some reason.

If you open the XML of the profile, near the top is a node called AppDef which contains information like the process name, window class, window title or URL if applicable, etc. If any of these, usually the window title or URL, which can include regular expressions, no longer match the target application, the window will fail to be identified and the profile cannot run on it.

If none of these stand out as particularly obviously mismatching, you can try to recreate the profile. If successful, you could compare the differences to see what changed (though of course you can use the new profile since it works...). If you are unable to recreate the profile, I would recommend reaching out to your VAR to troubleshoot and may need to submit an Application Compatibility Form for that version of the product.

Thanks James. It seems to be good now however we are rolling it out to other users at present and since installation it seems to be causing problems with NAV examples are glitch in the screen. On screens where you previously had only to tick a box you now have to do it repeatedly and the Laserfishe icon symbol is jumping all over the screen when going into another screen. Can you advise. Thanks

Hi Elaine,

I'm not familiar with NAV and the description of "previously had only to tick a box" doesn't immediately seem like part of an integration using Laserfiche Connector. That and your initial description of "Laserfishe [sic] connector for Nav" makes me wonder whether you are using the product Laserfiche Connector, or possibly a NAV-specific integration developed by a third party.

If this is a case of the latter, that's not something we would be able to help with; I would recommend finding and contacting the third-party developers directly.

If it is in fact Laserfiche Connector, confirm whether it is one of our confirmed applications, possibly under a different name (="Navision"?). If not, then as recommended previously please file an Application Compatibility form describing the issue and providing the logs as directed. In one of the additional file upload fields it would be useful to have video of the NAV application showing the behavior of the icon jumping around. You can then ask your reseller to open a case with Laserfiche Support for back-and-forth in hopes of identifying the issue.

If it is on the list of confirmed applications, then I would recommend reaching out to your reseller for troubleshooting which may result in opening a case with Laserfiche Support. To expedite troubleshooting in that event it would help to have the Connector logs as well as a copy of the profile in use and a video of the jumpy behavior.

Sorry I can't offer an immediate explanation for what's happening, but I hope this helps in reaching a resolution.
