LF client 9.2.1.635  if I drag a PDF into a folder in the repository it opens in the clients Electronic File Pane, however if I assign a template to this same PDF I receive "No response received from the server [780].  The meta date (template) is there but nothing except the error in the preview. Anybody know what's going on here?  Thanks Wendi

Hi, Actually I just noticed, when I copy the pdf to the repository the 1st time I open it   it is fine. if I close and reopen is when I get the 780 error.

Was there a fix for this or did you figure out what was happening? We are experiencing a similar issue in that the documents are able to be viewed the first time they are opened but we receive an error the next time they are viewed.

We are having that issue now too! Not electronic files, but images. What did you do to repair it?

Is it consistent as you described or it happens randomly?

Sounds like a network issue. Where client is having hard time communicating with Server.

Check whether the electronic document was correctly stored on the repository volume. This shall be performed by an administrator who has access to the Laserfiche server as well as the repository volumes.

  1. Right click the document entry, then open the Properties dialog.
  2. Under the document tab, note the following: (see screenshot below.)
    • The repository volume where the document is stored.
    • The file path of the electronic document inside the repository volume.
  3. From the Windows server on which the Laserfiche server is hosted, navigate to the repository volume, and check that the electronic document exists under that file path.
  4. Verify that the file can be opened from the file system. For example, you can try copy that file from the repository volume to your desktop or to a temporary folder created on a local disk.
  5. Verify the file integrity (its content). Try open the file with the application it is registered with, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  6. If steps 1 - 5 succeeded, try verify that the disk on which the repository volume is located is not full, and that new files can be created on it.
