Question

Laserfiche Inactive Logout

asked on November 16, 2016 Show version history

I know this has been discussed previously but i just need some clarification.

My client has issues that they receive the "Login failed because number of sessions has been exceeded"

Each user may log in from their work laptop and a mobile device, i have set auto logout to 180 minutes of inactivity.

So how come when i look at All Sessions some users can be logged in for days and days

When does a user get removed from the All Sessions ?

The inactivity timeout that's configured in the Laserfiche Administration Console only applies to connections from the desktop client. From the screenshot, none of those sessions have been inactive for longer than 180 minutes (3 hours).

Thanks for your answer Alex , but there is one of those sessions that's over 20 days old , why does that stay in sessions list ? why hasn't it been removed after the 3 hours auto logout ?

Also am i correct that a user cannot have more than 4 active sessions at a time ?

how does Laserfiche define what a session is ?

That session that has been inactive for over 20 days is from the application Excel.exe, not the Laserfiche desktop client. That's why it's exempt from the inactivity timeout.

Also, with named user licensing, a trustee cannot have more than four concurrent sessions.

Does that mean that a session created by Excel can count towards the four concurrent limit ?

I did not get an answer to my question.

Does the excel session count towards the the 4 active sessions  ?

and why doesn't an excel session get auto logged out like a LF session if it does count in the 4 active sessions ?

Dear Alexander,

I am having a problem with the same issue of inactive clients staying on for days even after I have configured the timeout session to 4 minutes. I am using LF version 9.0.2. I have attached herein the screenshot of some of the sessions. Am I missing something?
