Question

Akamai Technologies showing up as one of the applications connecting to Laserfiche server.

asked on November 16, 2016 Show version history

We have a client who recently upgraded to 10.1 on a new server. They notice that in performance monitor mmc, there are multiple addresses showing up, some were listed under application Workflow Server service And Akamai. The IP address was not recognized by the client.

That's not one of the Laserfiche products. Do you have any integrations? Can you attach a screenshot? Where in Performance Monitor do you see these?

The IP address that Workflow Service accessed was 239.255.255.250. I see it in the Network section where the Image column showed Laserfiche.Workflow.Service.exe and address column had that IP address. I will get a screenshot.

Ok, I first thought you were referring to the application names listed under Sessions in the LF Admin Console, not Performance Monitor. What makes you think the network traffic you're seeing to (from?) Akamai is from Laserfiche products?

If that IP address is for your Laserfiche Server (or Forms server or mail server or SQL server, for that matter), then the connection from Workflow is normal. If it's not, you'll probably have to inventory your script activities and web service connections and see if it's one of those. NSLooup doesn't resolve it as a public IP, so it's probably somewhere on their network.

That IP address is associated with Universal Plug-and-Play.

Workflow Server will connect to the Laserfiche server, so that seems normal.  Laserfiche doesn't install any Akamai products, but one of your other applications might use it to distribute data or patches.  You can use nslookup to get more information about any IP addresses that you don't recognize.
