Question

Not able to cancel instance.

asked on November 15, 2016

In Forms 10, I created a timer event to send an email notification to the user when the task isn't completed by the due date.  The process is set up to not interrupt the current task and I was sent hundreds of emails like the instance got stuck in a loop.   Now the instance shows to be in a suspended status but the system won't allow me to stop it.  When I select "stop instance", it takes a long time before it shows cancelled, but when I try to delete it (or even refresh the screen), the instance shows to be back in suspended status.  I've tried to make changes to the process but I get an error message saying "Laserfiche Forms has encountered an error while saving process data. [LFF2602-ProcessDataSavingError]".  Any ideas on how I can get this task to cancel?  I was going to just create a new process but I continue to get email notifications every 4 days, even though the task is suspended.

You configured the timer catch event to repeat every 4 days? And why the task is get suspended? Can you take a screenshot for the history of the instance as well as the process diagram.  You can use this tool to take screenshot.

Thanks for your response.  I actually finally got it to delete by putting a terminate end event in the loop and retrying the task.  I was never able to see why the instance was suspended but on 11/10, there were 1,151 processes created within an hour due to this loop so I assumed it was because the process was stuck in a loop.

Thanks again for your help.
