Question

Enable SSL between WF server and LFS

asked on November 15, 2016

Hi,

I did enable SSL on the Laserfiche server and was able to enable SSL fo other components like WebAccess.

Is there a way to enable SSL between the Workflow server and the Laserfiche server when they reside on two separate servers?  I don't see a SSL checkbox like in the other modules that supports it.

You can do this inside the Workflow Administration Console under Server Configuration --> Advanced Server options. under the Laserfiche tab.

Thanks John,

I was expecting this setting to be in the Configuration Manager screen where you attach the repository.

Did not think it was hidden that deep.

Thanks again.

It's not per repository at this time, it applies to all connections Workflow makes to all the attached repositories (which can be on multiple LF Servers).

Ok, thanks for this clarification.

Will there be a change later on, to enable SSL on a per Laserfiche Server setting?

Possibly. Is that your case or are you asking for completeness of the feature?

Right now, all customers I'm directly involved in have one WF server for each LF Server. So I think I'm good for now with this global SSL setting.

I'm not asking for it now but in your last communication, the door was kind of open a bit and wanted to check.

When V11 goes out with that possibility of clustering WF, then maybe one WF could serve many LFS and then this would be a requirement, or not.
