"The Data could not be Loaded" Message when trying to add Audit Trail User

asked on November 15, 2016

Hello All,

I have an issue where I am trying to add a user from a domain in the Audit Trail Configuration Page>Permissions page. I have confirmed that some users pull up when I type in the name. I have confirmed that the user in question belongs to the domain that Audit Trail is trying to pull from. The issue though is that no matter what combination of the users name, I get the message, " The data could not be loaded". Has anyone seen this before? Is there something missing that needs to be in place for Audit Trail to pull in that user?

Thanks!

Were there any thoughts or ideas on this?

We've seen this issue before in older versions of Audit Trail where only a single letter or two was being searched on and it was trying to return many AD users.

What version of Audit Trail is this regarding? If you use a more specific search term that should return only a few results, does that work?

Hi Alex,

The version is 10.1.0.151. I have tested variations of the users display name. First name only, last name only, last name then a comma then the first name (which is how the display name actually shows up in their Active Directory). No matter what I always get The data could not be loaded.

Thanks!

Please open a support case and provide a copy of the application event log from the Audit Trail machine to see if there are any additional details regarding the error. It may be helpful to provide any other information you have about this issue, i.e. the difference between this specific account that you're trying to search for and failing vs the other accounts that you are successfully able to search for.

Did you ever come to a conclusion on this?

I thought it the user account we were logged in as, didn't have access to browse active directory.  Then we tried the Audit Trail website on the domain controller, and that didn't work either.  We are still looking for an answer.
