ERROR IMPORTING CERTIFICATE INTO WORKFLOW ADMINISTRATION CONSOLE

asked on November 10, 2016 Show version history

I am trying to use 'Sign Document' activity in one of my workflow's. When I was trying add my Certificate File to Workflow Administration console it gave me this error.

I trying to add a certificate file which is a '.cer' file.

Does Workflow only allows '.pfx' file type of certificate?(Personal Exchange Information Exchange File) to be added into Workflow Administration Console?

What if I want use my '.cer' certificate to sign documents? Is there any turnaround for this issue?

Or am I missing something?

Signing documents requires a certificate with the private key included. .Cer files only have the public key. They can be used for verifying signatures, but not for signing.

Thanks Miruna.

One more question.

In client we have an option to sign in the metadata pane. Over there I could use my .cer certificate file.

I was confused by this, thought that using .cer files could be used to sign documents.

Thanks & Regards
