I built out a Quick Fields session for one of our clients and tested successfully locally. However, once I emailed it to the client and she opens it, it is stripped of all its settings. I did the same thing with another user here and it stripped out all the settings again. Its basically a clean slate. Any ideas what could be removing all the added zone OCRs and pattern matching that I setup? I confirmed that the Quick Fields versions and added features match up.

Answer
By any chance was this session created in Quick Fields 10 and is being opened in Quick Fields 9?

Are you sure it didn't just open in operator mode? Quick Fields disables unlicensed processes and document classes, it does not remove them.
Do you know what the user might've selected in the metadata updater wizard? Quick Fields tries to validate the repository and login information when a session is first open and then prompts the user to confirm, replace or delete fields that are not found in the new repository. That might account for fields going missing if that's what you're seeing.
We are getting the following error at launch when opening it on the client side: The requested engine is not installed on this machine.
I was expecting the prompt to reconfigure for their repository but we don't get that far. Once we hit ok there, its just a blank quick fields session.
I've tried opening QF in admin and operator modes.

You know, I hadn't considered that. I assumed that both machines were on 10. But you're absolutely right. The client machine was on 9 and I was building in 10. I'll have to upgrade them.
Thanks!
