Interact with external database from workflow step

Is there a way to read/write information in the external database (Example MySQL, Postgres etc) from within Laserfiche Workflow step?

I was able to find answer to my own question. There is an 'insert/query/update data' actions under Enterprise Integration

Yes and you can use OBDC driver to get interact with other Database system, like, Oracle, MySQL and others

But, can you query an external database from a forms business process step?

You can use a service task to call Workflow to do it for you and pass data back. Or if you're referring to filling in form fields from an external database, Forms supports ODBC connections for its lookups.

And you need to have forms Professional license to get able to use database lookup with forms
