Question

Form save to repository task removing parent folder template

asked on November 7, 2016

Hi,

I've noticed that every time a Forms (10.1.0.575) process completes the Save to Repository service task, the parent folder template for the folder into which the form is saved is changed from an assigned template prior to the process to "No template assigned".  The metadata remains on the folder, but the original template is no longer assigned.

I've removed all but the service task from the Forms process and confirmed that there is nothing set in the "Parent folder fields" configuration in the service task, and the folder's template is unassigned every time.  I've created a test process in another repository and got the same outcome.  I haven't noticed this issue before, is this a known issue?  Is there a fix/workaround for this without having to assign settings to the "Parent folder fields", as this won't work with the existing form content?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike, in the STR configuration instead of choosing <None> do you have the same issue if you choose <Default>? I believe that is the setting to not touch anything in the repository.

Hi James,

That looks to be the answer.  I hadn't set anything originally, it was at "<None>" by default on creation of the STR activity, but that seems to be what the problem was.  Thanks very much.

Cheers,

Mike

No problem, Mike. We can look into making <Default> the default value of that field in the STR configuration, I've filed an enhancement request for that. Thanks for bringing this up!

The default option is now "Keep Current Template" with Forms 10.2
