Feature Request - Launch a LF Form from within WebAccess or Client

asked on November 3, 2016 Show version history

Hi,

As a best practice and good design habbit, I often create an area in the repository for each users (Secured location-only seen by the employe).  In that area, each users have some sort of TODO folder where each remaining tasks assigned to them are present as shortcuts.  This comes from Workflow assignation.

More and more Business Process automation are now coming from Forms.  I would like to see if the Workflow could create an entry in the Laserfiche repository that could hold the URL to the forms, and the URL would contain all neccessary parameters to get to the right Form.

Laserfiche may say this Forms TODO list is already present in the Forms interface but in a global view, there may be tasks that a user need to perform with the Client/WebAccess and some other tasks through Forms but there is no single container to hold both.

With the coming Forms 10.2, you can send daily notification email for each users that have unfinished tasks by using the aggregated notification feature, in  the notification email, it will include the list of the tasks as well as the URL for each task.  User can save that email to the repository if they want to keep the to do list in the repository.

Thanks Xiuhong for this info.  This will surely help in some business cases.

I however still believe that the feature request I did ask for, might be a good suggestion to centralize all user related tasks for all types of business process a user can be involved in, no matter what if it's a form request or a Workflow request to take an action on a document.

Maybe with the upcoming V11 where Workflow and Forms will be closer together, it would be a good idea to have an interface where a user could look at and see every unfinished business process where that user is involved in.
