My client is having an issue where their scanner accepts pages and LFScanning creates the thumbnail boxes, but the thumbnail boxes have red exclamations in the middle. When I check the temp directory for lfscanning, there are no images in the folder. It's as if lfscanning thinks it successfully received the images but then found out they never came at all. We are using a Canon Dr-4010C, but we have tried multiple scanners(of the same model), and multiple users. The strange thing is is that TWAIN works fine, but ScanConnect doesn't. The users need scanconnect for some specific feature related reasons, so getting it to work is their desired option. They are on LF 9.2.1.635 and SC 8.3. Has anyone else has similar issues like this? Thanks!

The only time I've seen this is when page removal is occurring. Does your scanner have any page removal features enabled in the scanner options menu? If so, you might also want to check that the users are feeding the pages in the correct orientation. Page Removal + Upside-Down pages will definitely cause this.

We took another look and found that no page removal settings were set in the scanner's software. Would this be considered a laserfiche issue or a scanner driver issue(in your opinion)?

My inclination would be scanner drivers. The typical "nuclear option" we use when mysterious scanner issues pop up is to do the following:
- Uninstall Laserfiche Client, ScanConnect, and the Scanner drivers.
- Delete the C:\Windows\Pixtran folder (or rename it to Pixtran_Old if you want to retain it).
- Reinstall the software in this order: Client, ScanConnect, then Scanner Drivers (download the newest ones possible from the manufacturer's website).
- Before logging in, open the Admin Console and login as an administrator. Locate the user that is having scanner problems and clear all their profile attributes. Be sure that "Show system attributes" is checked at the bottom.
- Login to the client with the user in question, then try to reconfigure scanning.
