Question

LF Forms Uploading Image Submit Form - Goes into Laserfiche - Image not there - PDF shows Image was attached

asked on October 27, 2016

I am working on a form in "Laserfiche Forms" (bear with me I am a new user) for a Premises Inspection.  The form will be used on a mobile device and so far is working with the exception of the "File Upload".  I can attach an image to the form, and submit that.  After the form is submitted, the image is attached and can be opened and viewed, however the form that was sent into Laserfiche for archiving, does not have the image file.  The pdf does show that the image was there (references the name of the file at the bottom of the form), but the graphic is nowhere to be found.

We need to have the image go into Laserfiche along with the form.

Hey Laserfiche - it looks like I am trying to do the same process you are using for this form.   I see your "Attach a file" section down below.  Where do the attached files go for you?  Do they go into Laserfiche?  If so, how is that happening.

I appreciate your help!

Thanks!

Christine

Hi Christine,

Can you provide the details regarding how you have the "File Upload" options configured in your "Save to Repository" task?

Next to where you configure the options for the form itself should be an additional tab where you can configure the options for the file uploads. See below

Thank you Alexander!  I was able to find the settings you were leading me to in your response.

I am seeing the attachment go into Laserfiche now (along with the form), and it is named and has metadata associated to it that was gleaned from the form.  I have not been able to get the attachment to be added into the form itself, so am doing that manually.

Is there a way to have them automatically combined?

Are you referring to merging the documents together? Because the form that's saved into the repository will either be a TIFF image document or a PDF and the file uploads can really be any type of file, there isn't a good way to know what and when to merge files since you may end up with any number of incompatible file types.

With that being said though, you can make use of the "Document Relationships" option to effectively link the file uploads to the original form. Then when viewing the document relationship information on the document metadata, you'll see how they are linked together.

That will work!

Thank you again.
