Question

QF Agent v10 - The Universal Capture search directory does not exist.

asked on October 26, 2016 Show version history

Hi All

Just finishing updating to v10 of Quick Fields and Quick Fields Agent.  With QF Agent v10 none of our jobs are processing (these all processed as per schedules in v9.2 before the update).

All jobs logs are throwing the error in Quick Fields Agent: The Universal Capture search directory does not exist.

Running the jobs directly in Quick Fields v10 works fine and normally, just scheduling those jobs does not.

All jobs use UNC paths for the capture location/directory.

Any thoughts?

What account is being used for the Quick Fields Agent service? Please make sure it is an account that has access to the UNC path.

Hi Alex,

I'm having this issue and receiving this same error with QFA 10.3. When I run the session manually it has no issues accessing the path. I'm also logged in at the time to windows as the service account and can browse that path successfully. There's one other session/schedule configured for another path that works without issue. Any ideas why I'm getting this error with the other sessions?

Thanks,

Brian

Thanks - odd....   fixed

Issue is fixed by running QF Agent as administrator rather than system service, in QF v9 guess this did not matter.  Now it does.

Even in Quick Fields Agent 9, the service account would still need access to the UNC path that your Universal Capture sessions are configured for. The Local System account would not have access to network resources so it may have been that the Quick Fields Agent 9 service wasn't the Local System account but instead a domain account used for the service.
