User can't type "9" in annotation box in web access

asked on October 26, 2016

Hello,

My user is not able to type in the number 9 in the annotation boxes when viewing a document in web access(Chrome). Other people seem to have the same issue. We have cleared her attributes, but that doesn't make a difference. It doesn't happen with the thick client or in IE. Their version of web access is 9.0.2.660. Chrome is at 54.0.2840.71 and IE is at 11.321.14393.0. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

We've occasionally seen strange things like this with Chrome and non-English OSes.  Can you tell us exactly the OS that's used and the keyboard layout?  Is she the only user experiencing the problem?  Do other users with similar machines also experience the problem?

The user is on windows 10 pro and US En Keyboard layout. And yes other users have the same issue in Chrome and from their own computers.

I have a user who is experiencing this exact same issue. They are on WebAccess 9.2.0 and in using the most recent version of Google Chrome he cannot enter the number 9 in a Sticky Note annotation. He can do it just fine in Internet Explorer 11. I've cleared cookies and cache on his computer, it seems as though he's the only user experiencing this issue in his organization.

His computer is Windows 7 Pro and his keyboard layout is English (US).

After looking through my notes it looks like the user accepted using the thick(desktop) client as a workaround, sorry for the delay in response.

Hi Molly,

This may have been an issue with a specific library that was used in Web Access 9 although it's uncertain why it didn't seem to affect all users with similar regional/keyboard settings and using the same version of Chrome.

Would this customer be able to upgrade to Laserfiche and Web Access 10?

Hello,

We are working with a client on Web Access 9.2 that is running into this issue. They are curious if there is a patch or hotfix that would resolve this issue? Or is upgrading the only option?

The bug was not fixed in 9.x, though from what we know about it using another browser may be an alternative to upgrading the server.
