quickfields agent server status: stopped

asked on October 24, 2016

I get this error when I register my quickfields agent in webadmin.

This line from the event viewer on the webadmin server looks important to me.  The full error is attached.

System.ServiceModel.Security.SecurityNegotiationException: A call to SSPI failed, see inner exception. ---> System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException: A call to SSPI failed, see inner exception. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The target principal name is incorrect

We had this same error when attempting to run the QF Agent service as a windows account.

The fix was to allow the windows account Local/Remote Access permissions for Distributed COM in Component Services.

  1. Open Component Services, and browse to Component Services > Computers > My Computer.
  2. Right-click My Computer, and choose Properties.
  3. Select the COM Security tab
  4. Under Access Permissions, click Edit Default...
  5. Add the windows user and grant Local Access & Remote Access
  6. Click OK, and Yes at the pop-up.

Thanks Mark,

I can't say if this would have worked because we replaced our quickfields server and the new one registered without issues.

I get this same error. Happened when I changed the Quick Fields Agent service from localsystem to a domain account. Any luck with this?

I am getting the same error too. Is there a solution for this?

I never found a cause or solution, I just can't use webadmin for quickfields.

Same error here.  I would think someone from Laserfiche would respond once enough people have the issue.

I just moved QuickFields from the Repository Server to its own server to spread out the resource load.  I am now receiving the same error in WebAdmin.  QuickFields works, but the error is a little disturbing.

I am running QuickFields Agent 10.0 and QuickFields 10.1.1.216 with Hotfix KB1013873

I escalated to my VAR with all pertinent information and will have them open a support case with Laserfiche if we cannot resolve.

I have the same error.  When I changed from domain account to Localsystem, then it works.

I tried Zachary's suggestion and that did not work for the us.   The user is has QF 10.3 and is able to access the QF admin console, but the error is only in Web admin console.    Has anyone found a solution for this?

I'm having the same issue after trying the previous suggestions as well. Did you have any update on how or if you were able to resolve this?
