Question

Are Follow-ups Supposed to be Searchable?

asked on October 22, 2016

Hello,

I created a Follow-up post to a conversation. It's doesn't seem to be discoverable from a search.

Should it be?

The link at the top would still be the main post in the thread, not the follow up one. The search result wouldn't show the distinction between hits in the main post and ones in the follow-up. But they are searched.

The keywords above show this post and the one on creating  a spinner for me. Depending on which one I use, the context hit is from the main post or the follow-up.

There is, however, no good way to open directly to the follow-up context hit from the search results. I'll see if we can do something to make that better.

Were you using the general search or  where you searching within your posts?

Hi Miruna,

If by "general search" you mean the main search bar. at the top, between "members" and "new post" then yes.

The search criteria I used was:

1. spinner

2. "How to Create a Spinner or Loader for Forms"

3. How to Create a Spinner or Loader for Forms

Thanks. For now, I'll separate the spinner tutorial.

It could be a case of me not knowing how Laserfiche intended the followups to be used. I coulnd't find any documentation on the intention of the option.
