Question

Negative Currency

asked on October 19, 2016

I'm setting up a Quick Fields session with 2 document classes - one of which will "always" be credits or negative amounts.  This vendor lists it like this though:

I need to know how to force it to be a negative.  They aren't picky - a "-" or "()" are fine.  I can get the pattern to read and insert the decimal.

Thanks

No problem :)

If the value for that field is always negative, I would simply type a negative sign in the field and then add the token value after it. So if the token is called "CapturedValue", then it would look like this:

Alternatively, you could also use an "Assign Token Value" process to add a negative sign in front of the token value itself, then place just the token into the field.

I'm a bit confused what you're trying to do. Are you trying to take the captured value and add a negative sign in front of it before putting it into a field?

So sorry!  I didn't get my email notification on this question and here I thought I didn't get any responses :-)

I need to capture the value and put it in the template field and it needs to reflect that it's a negative or credit value.  So yes, add a negative sign so that it reflects that it's a credit.

Thank you!
