Question

Edit decision made on a processed form

asked on October 14, 2016 Show version history

Hello.

I have a question about editing a submitted form.  I have an application form that students use to apply for a particular option in a program.  Once the form has been submitted by the student it is routed to a group of advisors and one of them will review it and make a decision to admit or deny.

My question is, can I make something which will allow the decision to be changed and complete the workflow for that path vs the initial one which was either reversed or a mistake was made (checked wrong decision, etc.).

Once the result has been saved to the repository is there a way to be able to pull it back out and process it correctly?

Hi Mike,

You can send a form back for reprocessing.  You do need to make sure that the approver has permission to edit the form or has additional fields to fill out so that a reprocess decision can be made.

This simple flow shows an initial decision and secondary decision at the end to determine if the workflow should be reprocessed and possibly sent to a different approver.

If you have already saved the form to the repository I think you would need to invoke a workflow to delete the original form so that it could be resaved.   Or just save the form after all decisions have been made!

Hopefully this helps, if you need more details shout.
