Email Approval - Form not monitoring the inbox

asked on October 11, 2016 Show version history

I have correctly set up Forms email approval server and test runs successful.  The polling cycle is set to 2 min.

None of my email replies for approve seem to be read by server.  It seems as if the server isnt polling the inbox.

Hi William,

There might be additional messages in the LFForms event log if for example there are IMAP errors.

You can also try testing with Mozilla Thunderbird to use an IMAP connection with the same settings as you'd specified in the Forms Configuration page. Then when running through the e-mail approval task, check whether the message arrives correctly in the configured folder and is marked as unread.

For troubleshooting purposes, you may want to configure the service for the main INBOX folder and disable any mail routing rules which may be configured for the server.

If your IMAP connection is using SSL, confirm the port number and also check on the mailserver which SSL protocols are enabled. Currently it is a known issue that if TLS 1.0 is disabled, authentication to the mailbox may fail. This will be addressed in Forms 11.

You may also want to reach out to your VAR for additional troubleshooting assistance.

Hope this helps!
