PDF doesn't convert on import

asked on October 3, 2016 Show version history

I am using LF client Vers 10.1 update 1 (10.1.1.254).  I recently had the LF client loaded to two user workstations.

The version loaded was the 10.1.0.151.   Both users import PDFs and were finding that the PDFs would not convert to tiffs.  I realized the discrepancy in the versions and had the update 1 applied.  The PDFs still do not convert to tiff despite having the same settings as my import.

What am I missing?  I will be uninstalling and reinstalling the client with hotfix on one of these machines, but I'm not sure if that is going to help.

Please advise.

Is this Drag and Drop/Import. Before you uninstall and reinstall, did you check Options>New Documents>Settings and ensure that the Keep Original PDF Files was Unchecked?

Yes,  checked and unchecked it again to confirm that it was off.

Does it work with one of the Sample PDFs found in the LF client installation folder?

If it does work, please open a case with your VAR and LF Support and provide a copy of the PDF so we can test it here.

Raymond, It wasn't working for any PDFs.  An uninstall and reinstall was done and that fixed the issue with the PDFs.

The initial install was pushed to the user via Dell's KACE software.  During the evaluation of the PDF issue it came to light that she see an error message show up after logging on to her laptop in the morning stating it could not create a key.  The key information matches LF license key for this user except for the last 4 digits.

Any thoughts as to what that might be?  Something in the registry that needs cleaned up that didn't get removed with the uninstall?  Thoughts?

When the software was installed, were all the client components installed? You should check a machine where the LF client was installed using KACE and compare the installed components against the machine where the installation was done manually.

Thanks!  Uninstall/reinstall worked for me!
