Each document has one user as its creator, but that user can belong to multiple groups so it doesn't make sense to search for which group created the document. A different method would be to search for all documents in the repository, add the "Created by" column, sort by that column, then export the results as a CSV file. You can then use Excel to count how many documents were created by each user and use that to figure out how many documents each group created.
