Question

Forms cannot email submission

asked on September 27, 2016

We had a user report that when filling out a form from the iPad app that after they completed it and went to email it to themselves they got an error message that a they "cannot send email contact system administrator". I'm not even sure where to begin to look at this, I have personally emailed this form from the android app many times. Is there a log file on the server or iPad that can be reviewed for more information?

Hi Cj,

If they are using Forms 10, there might be more details to the error in the LFForms event log (under "Applications and Services" in Windows Event Viewer) on the Forms server machine. There might even be errors logged on the mailserver itself, if you have access to view those.

It may be worth reviewing the e-mail settings in the Forms configuration page to see if anything has changed, say for instance a password change in the configured user for SMTP. It might also have to do with particular data in the submissions causing issues.

You can also reach out to your reseller for assistance in troubleshooting this.

Hope this helps!
