Error 6752 When trying to open emailed LF Link sent from iPad

asked on September 21, 2016

Hello All,

I have an issue where a user is going into the LF app on their iPad and selecting a document and then uses the select email link to send a link to another LF users. When the user tries to open the link on their PC they get the following error:

Error Message: Unable to find the specified entry. [6752]

------------ Technical Details: ------------

LF.exe (9.2.1.562):

    Call Stack: (Current)

        CLFApp::OpenDocument

        CLFApp::OpenDocumentFile

        CLFApp::InitInstance

    Call History:

          WriteOptionString ([Options]LanguageISO)

          WriteOptionString ([Options]Language)

         GetOptionString ([Settings]EnableProductEnrichment)

         InitPEP

         GetOptionString ([Settings]DelayedProgressTimeout)

         GetOptionString ([Settings]LfWicUtilVersionCheck)

         CLFApp::OpenDocumentFile

          CLFApp::OpenDocument

This has been replicated on different iPads sent to multiple users. No one is able to open the link to the document without error. Has anyone see this before?

Thanks!

Hi, Did this get resolved? I'm getting a [6752] error when doing Affinity searches. We've just upgraded from LF9 to LF10. The Affinity searches are unchanged, and even though the work as they did before, I'm getting the error below. Not sure if it could be related to the iPad error.

 Error Message: Unable to find the specified entry. [6752]

------------ Technical Details: ------------

LF.exe (10.1.1.254):

    Call Stack: (Current)

        CLFApp::OpenLFDocument

        CSearchView::OnSearchDone

    Call History:

           CAttachedRepository::GetProfileValue

          CContextListView::LoadContextHitListing

        GetOptionString ([Settings]DisplayContextLines)

         CAttachedRepository::GetProfileValue

        CSearchView::OnSearchDone

         GetOptionString ([Settings]ColumnGroupedByFoldersAndDocuments)

          CAttachedRepository::GetProfileValue

         CLFApp::OpenLFDocument

Hi John,

This issue may not be related to yours as this issue occured due to users sending links from LF Mobile on their Ipad to other users who were trying to open the link using the LF Client as opposed to Web Access.

Thanks!

This can happen if the search returns one document and one or more folders. We will look into fixing the 6752 error (bug# 152080)

Thanks - is there a workaround in the meantime? (and is this a new bug with LF 10?)

I don't think it is a new bug. Can you elaborate on the types of searches that are being used, and whether the searches return multiple entries?

It's an Affinity search (search string below). It does normally return multiple entries. The search string is unchanged, but has started throwing the error only since we upgraded to LF Client / Server V10 from V09

{LF:Lookin="\Building Control", Subfolders=Y} & {[DBC02 Building Control Files]:[DBC02 File Number]="%(FileNo)"} | {LF:NAME="%(FileNo)*", TYPE="DBF"} | {LF:NAME="%(Token01)/%(Token02)/%(Token03)*", TYPE="DBF"} | {[DBC02 Building Control Files]:[DBC02 Application Number]="%(Token01)/%(Token02)/%(Token03)"}

This is a bug in the client that will be fixed in 10.2 (bug# 152080). The error message happens because the search is being run with the "open if one result" option, disable that in the Affinity integration if possible.

I can't find that setting in Affinity Global configuration - do you know where it is, or is there a switch / script I can use in the search itself?

We contacted the people behind Affinity and they say it is not configurable.  The issue will be fixed in 10.2, until then the error message can be ignored.

OK thanks. Some people don't get to LF though - the error appears in Affinity and okaying / cancelling doesn't then let them see the search results in Laserfiche (LF is not started). Not sure why this is, for most people, LF fires up then they see the error.

Affinity must be launching the LF client as a hidden window for those users. If you open a support case we can look into it more and possible get you a hotfix. For reference, the bug # is 152080.
