Question

Forms with Public Portal

asked on September 19, 2016

Hello,

I'm working with a customer who would like to be able to utilize the Laserfiche Mobile application with their Forms available in the Forms Portal. Is this configuration supported or will users be required to authenticate into the app using a Forms participant license?

Best Regards,

Hunter

The Public Forms module does not currently work with the Mobile app. I believe that has been brought up before and is being looked into.

Hi, Blake

Do you have a use case for Public Forms Portal usage in Laserfiche App because currently we don’t have public forms supported in Laserfiche App?

As I see it, user will get the public form’s url from an email or from some website. Are you expecting to open that form in Laserfiche app? I wonder if people will be interested in downloading the app for one time use.

Or, do you want user to open the app and then see a list of public forms? This scenario sounds a bit un-intuitive because the user needs to know which server they connect to still.

Let me know which scenario we are trying to address and we can know how to design this to make it cater the cases that make sense.

Hello Julia,

In this instance, the customer has several users that do not need access to any other Laserfiche features other than this Form, which is an Expense Reimbursement Report. Ideally, the users would be able to keep the form offline on their Laserfiche Mobile app so they could add expense line items and receipt images to the form as they generate expenses for the customer and once completed-submit that form to the customer's process. I understand that we could use the mobile web version and "save as draft" however, I am worried about the amount of user errors that could potentially draw from that (i.e. couldn't find my draft link in my email, forgot password, etc.).

This desired configuration would mean that the Expense form would always be with the user's device, and allow for less liability and ease of use.
