Question

Laserfiche Forms - Text Field Formatting

asked on September 19, 2016

Our organization is getting Laserfiche Forms next year and I was just curious as to whether you could format a text field in a form (specifically for project and permit review comments on our end) the same way this very "Details" control is formatted for submitting a question to the Laserfiche Answers forum? It would be helpful to be able to bullet and number comments. Also, is there built in spellcheck for Laserfiche Form fields?

Thanks!

Rosa, it sounds like you want form submitters to be able to format their text in form fields.  Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to do that now but the Forms team is aware of it as a feature request.

The feature Ming mentioned allows adding formatted text when you're designing the form, but it's not actually a form field, so it doesn't allow form submitters to add formatted text.

As for spell checking, users will have spell checking when submitting forms if spell checking is enabled in their browser.

In Forms, there are many types of the fields. In your case, I suggest to use the "Custom HTML" type. By dragging it to the Form, you will see a similar text editor like this. Attached a picture. I'm not aware of any spell-checking in Forms right now, but it's a good feature for future versions.

Thanks guys! Any idea when this feature will be available? Or is it just more of a suggestion at this point in time?

I don't think there's a known timeline for this feature yet, so for now it's more of a suggestion.
