Question

Quick Search - Use tokens for "this folder" text search?

asked on September 15, 2016

Is there a way to set up a custom quick search to be, say, a text search AND limited to within the currently displayed folder?

I don't see a token for the current folder, which would be ideal.

If not, this may turn into a feature request.  :)

Thanks in advance!

To run a quick search limited to the current folder, you just need to make sure "Within current folder" and your custom quick search are both checked. Can you elaborate on the scenario that would require a token in the quick search? Also, is this in the desktop client or Web Access?

Hi Robert -

This is with the desktop client.

I am used to the 7 client as that is what we had for a LONG time and are just recently nearing completion of our migration to 9.  So, I have a fresh look at the new 9 interface and the Quick Search, which wasn't available before.

To me, it seems like a logical interface choice to see that search as a context-sensitive search within the currently displayed window.

I don't see a way to do this in the desktop client.

Thanks

Mike

Oh, is that all...  :)

Well, we are starting to plan for 9->10 now, so for now I'll just have to do full searches.

Thanks for the info!
