How do I migrate waiting workflows from Workflow 9 to Workflow 10?

asked on September 15, 2016 Show version history

We're upgrading to Laserfiche & Workflow 10 soon from V9.0 and I'm trying to find out how I can deal with running workflows (we've got hundreds held in wait conditions).

I've been looking at help files, other answers, etc., and I suspect using 'redirects' might be an option, but I can't find anything that covers quite what I need in a detailed way.

Any advice would much appreciated.

Running workflows are saved in the database when the service is stopped. No migration is needed for an in-place upgrade.

Redirects are used for the case where the Laserfiche Server name changes or the username/password used in the connection profile are updated.

Thanks Marina. The Laserfiche server name will be changing - do you know if there are more detailed guidance notes on the redirect facility for this that those on the web help admin guide: (https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-us/administration/Default.htm#../Subsystems/LFWorkflow/Content/Resources/Admin Console/LaserficheServerandRepositoryRedirectNode.htm?Highlight=redirect

There isn't much. You want to put the redirect in in Workflow 9 before you move the Laserfiche Server to ensure that Workflow has a fallback for any running instances. I'd recommend stopping the Workflow services while the Laserfiche Server is being moved and upgraded.
