*Feature Request* Download Form in Preview

asked on September 14, 2016

My Marketing Team has to approve every aspect of the form. They have to approve how it will look on the internet, printed, downloaded, and etc. It would be neat if during the preview we had an option to download the form to PDF format. Usually when I get to the point of Marketing Review the form is created and it could have many required fields and the emails are setup. I rather not have to kick off the whole process in order to see a finished form.

Hello,

There is a way to save the form as pdf in preview mode. If you are in the preview mode, press ctrl+p to open the browser print mode, and you can change 'destination' to 'save as pdf'. Browsers support 'save as pdf' in print mode, so maybe you can try that way to save your form as pdf.

Hello,

When you do it this way it doesn't print the way it saves to laserfiche. The field boxes aren't that noticeable. Plus the layout isn't correct. it's pushing the fields I have in a row onto a new line.

Hello,

If you check 'Background graphics' from the browser print mode (Chrome), the field boxes will be much more clear.

About the layout, can you please provide screenshots? I thought the layout from the print mode should be the same as the layout from the screen (the same as what you see on screen).

1st Picture - The actual form

2nd Picture - In Print mode. Zip Field moves to new line

Obviously marketing will rip this apart if they notice the Zip Line isn't on the same line as Address Fields. But when you save it to Laserfiche it looks just the same as if I was filling it out.

Hello,

There are other workarounds instead of print mode from browser. What you can try is capturing the screenshot and print that image as pdf format. Or you can open 'Forms Setting' dialog from 'Layout' page to give more width to your form and try browser print mode again to see if the layout of fields is still incorrect. Usually, print mode is to print what you see on the screen on paper.

Yoosang,

This still didn't work. Colors were changed and if you change the width it also messes up the look. To get the real look of the form you have to fill it out completely, and go through the whole process. Which is okay, but it would be nice to have that option to download a blank form. Just in case if our system goes down we have a blank form for people to fill out and even for Marketing purposes. No big deal. I will just make each form the starting form and download a blank copy by submitting it with no requirements.
