Question

Search for documents with no OCR

asked on September 13, 2016

Hi Everybody,

I tried  to search by folder and document where no text is generated but search results did not return anything.

Could you please explain  how to search for PDF documents which has not been OCR in LF 10.1?

Hi Ketsia,

We have a small workflow that schedules documents to be OCR'd using the search:

{LF:Name="ANNUAL REVIEW 2015", Type="D"} &  {LF:OCR=none} & {LF:LOOKIN="LFICHE\Human Resources\Personnel Files"}

Did you try the {LF:OCR=none} in your search syntax?

The Advanced Search Syntax document has more options for OCR searches starting on page 28:

Hope that might help!

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your answer.

Can you please confirm if  there is a way that the upload converts the PDF to OCR or do users have to manually convert the PDF to OCR after upload is done? For PDF uploads. Thanks

ketsia

Please don't post the same question in multiple threads. The question about extracting image pages from PDF for OCR has been answered here.
