Question

import agent 10

asked on September 13, 2016

Investigating the use of Import Agent 10 to meet the needs of a client.

Question has to do with the ability to use meta-data fields and/or tokens to dynamically select the destination repository folder where the document is placed during the import process.

TIA for any/all assistance.

Bill - that's one of the things that Workflow is used for most often - retrieving field values and using them in document/folder names & paths!

Bill -

I don't believe this can be done directly in IA10, but you can always use Workflow to monitor the folder it's importing into to pull the info from the fields to create folder path, etc.

Jim:

thanks for the reply. not very familiar with the specifics of workflows. are you suggesting that a workflow could both interrogate the metadata to determine a specific folder AND actually move the document to that folder?

appreciate your patience
