Hi Priscia,

Yes participant users can start process instances and perform user tasks, however they cannot create or administer business processes.

Refer here for more detail

Thank you.

Just to jump on this, could someone confirm that we could give one user two licenses? Both the Named Retrieval Users and the Forms Authenticated Participants?

So, for example;

John (Manager)

  •  Named Retrieval Users License
  • Forms Authenticated Participants License

Dave (Basic employee)

  • Forms Authenticated Participants License

Is it possible for John to have two licenses assigned to his User account?

Hey Lifei,

But so just found out that these participant user licenses would not work in the contracts dept.  In this companies case, someone has to actually review and approve a contract.  Unlike a form, the contract is a document that will always be different depending on the vendor.  To review and approve the contract, I'm thinking the user will have to have a workflow license ...what do you suggest?

There are no Workflow licenses, per se. If the user needs to access and modify documents, then they would need a Full Named User license (which would also include access to Forms).

Also,

A customer that would like to automate the review and approval of contracts.  To do so, would the person approving the contract need a full user license?  Or is there a way to use forms participant licensing? thank you.

Best,

Priscia
