Web Access 10: Is there a way to move a menu option from the somewhat hidden "More Actions" menu to the toolbar?

asked on September 9, 2016

We want to move the "Generate Pages" option, which is currently hidden in More Actions > Advanced, to both the toolbar and the context menu for PDF docs. Is this possible?

The help files say that it is, but there are no references other than adding the Refresh This Folder" button.

Hi Ege,

Toolbar customization will be available in Web Access 11.0, due out Q4 this year. Users will be able to move commands like 'generate pages' between toolbar and overflow menu. Administrators will also be able to push out a default toolbar configuration to their users from Web Access.

We haven't really thought about context menu customization yet, but at the very least we can consider including 'generate pages' in the context menu when a PDF is generated.

Thanks Ryan. Adding Generate Pages to the context menu when a PDF is selected would be great.

One important thing would be to make it so that, when the Generate Pages process is done, the PDF starts to automatically open in the "Pages" view, without needing to refresh the page. That's one thing I noticed with the current version - Web Access still thinks the document is is primarily a PDF and opens it in Electronic File mode, which doesn't have the annotation tools available. Users find this confusing (especially now that the TIFF image view and the PDF view look so similar in WA).
