Question

Scanning compressed images into Laserfiche or Quickfields from network drive

asked on September 8, 2016 Show version history

I've seen several posts about needing to compress images once in Laserfiche.  My intent is to get the smallest image size into Laserfiche from the start.

We have several QR codes that will be in use so we must scan at 300 DPI.  We will be scanning in B&W with CCITT Group4 compression.  I've tested a few documents in Quickfields and they seem to work fine. Is there any issue with using this compression setting on images that will be scanned into Laserfiche and Quickfields?

Please advise, thank you.

That's the default compression for black and white images for most scanners and produces fairly small images. Quick Fields works just fine with them. The other threads you saw on compression are about color images and do not apply to b&w images.
