Question

Multiple value fields linked to an external table

asked on September 7, 2016 Show version history

Hi,

I have a customer who requires to have the drop down that is linked to an external table with 2 Fields/Columns.

Magazine and then Project, the Magazine(Multiple Value per Row) is the Parent field so when you select the Magazine(Multiple Value per Row) it populates the Project(Return the Multiple Value per Row) field. When using Multiple value fields, it does populate the Project, but it populates it with the same field as the previous and doesn't change it to the different field.

This is just to give an idea how the fields look.

Hi Mazahir,

I meant to say that the Project field is also a multiple value field so it should dynamically populate and not with a workflow.

Hello Gert

as Robert mentioned i am sharing with you more in details.

  • Laserfiche Server 11

     -

Laserfiche Server 11 will allow client applications to configure a new way to display multiple-value fields in a template; administrators will be able to group different fields together such that the multi-values for the fields are show together as a set, as opposed to the existing method of displaying all the values of a single field together. For example, the first multi-value for a "Name" field and an "Address" field will be shown together. Then the second multi-value of the "Name" field and "Address" field will be shown together. The Laserfiche Server will also feature a new method of streaming search results to client applications, which can result in significantly faster load times when viewing search results.
