dot/dotx document and metdata

Hello,

 

I want to know is there a way to create dot/dotx document with some kind of token to display some metadata coming from Laserfiche document.

Yes, you can use the Office Integration to do this. See here for more information.

Hi Tessa,

 

thanks for your answers. I've tried to do it but I can't make it works.

Let me explain, I have a letter that I want to complete with metadatas coming from invoices. I have three  invoices and the goal is to get one letter for each invoice.

For now, when I try to insert a token in the letter I don't have anything display even if I refresh. I guess that to have something display I should tell to Laserfiche from which document it should take the value, but I don't understand how to do that.

As stated in the help files linked:

To insert a token into a Microsoft Office document

  1. Open a Microsoft Word document stored in your repository, or save a Microsoft Word document to your repository.

 

the document you are inserting tokens into should be stored in your repository. The tokens come from that specific document's metadata.

Depending on your use case, you may wish to try the new activity in Workflow 10 that allows you to fill out Word documents instead.
