Question

Cannot Edit Search Syntax - Advanced Search Syntax Box is Greyed Out

asked on September 2, 2016

Hello

We recently moved to v10.  I am pretty adept at writing search queries in Web Access but the Advanced Search Syntax box is greyed out for me.  I can create queries from the field boxes available and the syntax is visible to me, but I cannot edit the syntax.  I have full admin access to the system.  Is there a way I can edit the syntax myself.

In the example below I would like to edit the syntax so that the Personnel Number field is not null (<>"").  But I cannot edit the syntax.  is there a way to make this box editable.

Hi Katherine,

Click the hide search syntax option at the bottom. You can then enter manually into the search syntax box if you select that as a search type.

Hope this help! smileyyes

As a note, you don't need to hide the box at the bottom if you'd like to view how your syntax looks when it's all combined.
