We moved a repository location from one server to another by unregistering the repository, moving the repository files (AUDIT, LOGS, SEARCH, TEMP) to the new location then registering the repository again pointing to the new location. The new location is on a different server to the live RIO LF server - previously it was on the same server.
This mostly worked - the repository is now working with the settings showing the location on the new server - except there were error messages for the search - could not find catalogconfig.xml. We double checked the rights and the path, tried different path configurations - a share name and a UNC path with a d$ drive, but all failed.
We had to point the search location back to the old server and it is now working (having re-indexed overnight).
Any thoughts on why the repository could not use the search folder in the new location? One guess we had was that maybe we can't use UNC paths (although that seems to be fine for the repository location itself). We can set up a mapped drive from the live (old location) server - would that resolve this? Any other thoughts on what the problem could be?
