Workflow - Place new documents under version control on new folder

Can workflow configure a folder to place new documents under version control or does it need to be done manually in the client.

Not quite sure about a folder but you can use the Version Control activity in the Designer for documents.

It tells me to select a document instead of a folder. Looking to set the option the users have in their console
