Question

Within Folder Search – Selected Folders

asked on August 31, 2016

Has anyone else seen this issue?

I have a search set up to search for all documents created in a specific folder on a specific date. (Within Folder Selected Folders; Date; Document/Folder Name in Client; Within Folder Selected Folders; Created; Entry Type in Web Access)

Client and Web Access both act the same and both are Version 9.2.

If I perform the search with 1 selected folder, it returns results in about 3-5 seconds (50,000+ document to search through to find 314 results – expected).  If I try to perform the search with 2 selected folders (second folder only has 12 documents in it), it stalls out and won’t finish the search.

If I take the second selected folder off and rerun it with 1 selected folder, it stalls out and won’t finish the search.

I have to close out of Client (or Web Access) wait a couple minutes and reopen.

After I reopen, I can do the 1 folder search again.  I try the 2 folder search again and it stalls out.

I have tried this with a variety of different folder combinations and get the same results.

When you close and reopen, could you please try adding both locations at first and see if it stalls or no.

Seems like a memory issue.

Could you please monitor memory or maybe try one some other computer with more memory to see if that makes any difference.

Running both folders on the first search takes about 3 minutes to return the 323 results out of 52,000 records (versus 3 seconds to return 314 out of 52,000).
