Why does it take so long for Laserfiche folder to open

Our Utility Billing department has a folder called "Customer Account" with approx 41246 entries in it. Usually it takes over a minute for this folder to open.

Is there any suggestions as to how to make this folder open quicker. Unfortunately we cannot break this folder into sub-folders

I would very much suggest breaking this folder up. Whether Customer Account folders are by name (possibly create an A-Z folder and put all the A accounts in the A folder, etc). Also, searching alleviates the browse problem. If you can search by metadata or name you don't have to click through the folders.

That being said, the more information you have in your columns the longer it will take to load. Try removing unnecessary columns from your view.

You can try hiding the OCR column and Pages column. That will usually speed it up as they are calculated on the fly.
