Chrome Extension notification - Displaying after Chrome plugin is already installed

asked on August 22, 2016 Show version history

A client of ours is having this message displayed when using Web Access in Chrome. This happens in both Web Access standalone and when Web Access is within an IFRAME. I have confirmed that the extension/plugin is installed and activated.

Any ideas on this?

Client is on Laserfiche 9.2.1.

Hi Karim,

This is a known issue in Web Access 9 and 10. The problem is that the code Web Access uses to detect the chrome extension fails when Web Access is accessed through an iframe. We plan on addressing the issue in a future release.

Note that we believe the root cause is in Web Access proper, not the Chrome extension. This means the customer will need to upgrade to the latest version of Web Access to get the fix (as opposed to pushing out a new version of the Chrome extension).

For your reference, the id number for the change request TFS6972.

Are you implying that this issue i =s resolved in Laserfiche Web Access 10.1?

Or are you saying that once it is resolve, we will have to install the new Web Access version like 11?

Regards

Hey Karim,

My apologizes for the confusion. The issue is not fixed in Web Access 10.1. When it is fixed, you'll have to install the latest version of Web Access.

We're looking into the possibility of including a fix for the issue in our next scheduled service pack release, Laserfiche 10.1 Update 2, which is due out late September/early October. We'll update the thread if we're able to safely resolve the issue for that release. Note that at this time, there are no plans for hotfixing Web Access 9.2.

Hi Karim,

The issue is now fixed as part of the service pack release Web Access 10.1.2, included in Laserfiche 10.1 Update 2. For more information, please see KB1013798, which contains download links for Web Access 10.1.2.

Also, to get the fix for the issue, please make sure you have the latest version of the Laserfiche Web Access Chrome Extension (1.4).
