Workflow Designer Not Opening

posted on August 19, 2016

I have a problem that started out of no where. My workflow designer simply will not open. When you dubble click on the workflow designer icon the little square workflow designer picture pops up. That is where it hangs. It simply does not go any further than that & refuses to open.

Trouble shooting I did was to go and have a look at the event viewer & workflow administration console. There are somer errors relating to the subscriber not able to see the repository. I went into the workflow configuration manager and reconfigured all the settings.

After still not having any luck I did a repair on the workflow. This also did not help. I than did a completed reinstall of all Laserfiche products. I even created a brand new sql instance. A tried doing a system restore as a last resort but that also did not help.

Has anybody else has an issue like this before?

I have tried to delete the C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Local\Laserfiche\Laserfiche.Workflow.Desig_StrongName_muzewfif0xyihnye3w32xtk44w2p0pkg\8.3.0.0\user.config and still no luck. Any other options to try to get the Designer to open?

Hi Crystal,

Did you ever find a solution for this? Deleting that file didn't change anything for me either, nor is there a file to delete in the location Erik mentioned for me.

I right clicked on Workflow Designer and Run as Administrator. That is the only workaround I could find.

Thank you Raymond.

After struggling a whole day with this issue and doing a complete reinstall from SQL al the way through to Laserfiche without any success, your solutions worked immediately.

Try deleting C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Local\Laserfiche\Laserfiche.Workflow.Desig_StrongName_muzewfif0xyihnye3w32xtk44w2p0pkg\8.3.0.0\user.config

where "<yourusername>" is your actual windows username.

To add to your answer, there is another folder that I had to delete to get mine working, %userprofile%\appdata\Roaming\Laserfiche\WF
