Question

asked on August 4, 2016

At what number of concurrent connections established to E-Form should we start thinking about clustering LF-Forms to distribute the load?

You can considering using network load balancing cluster to distribute the load when you have more than 50 concurrent connections. But Forms doesn't fully support cluster system with multiple Laserfiche Forms Routing Service running on multiple machines: like the timer start events may be executed multiple times. For cluster system, you can install Forms on multiple machines, but configure to only use Laserfiche Forms Routing Service on one single machine.

50 concurrent connections is a low number for an enterprise solution such as Laserfiche and comparing with other systems.

Also I did not get the second point - you mean certain Business Processes will not work in case forms is clustered as we may have activities in the E-Forms related to the routing service which can only be installed on one of the clustered machines???

The second point is if you have a business process use timer start event and you set it to be triggered at certain time, if you have multiple routing services connect to the same database, when restart these routing services, the timer start event will be registered in each routing services, so it will be triggered multiple times.
